The region of Monterey on the California Central Coast is the best Pinot Noir producing region in the United States, known for its cool breeze from the Gulf of Mexico.
The vineyards that stretch from north to south are reminiscent of Côte d’Or in Burgundy, France.
Miura Winery was founded in 1995 by Emmanuel Chemigi, who holds the title of master sommelier with only about 150 people in the world, abandoning the position of chef sommelier at Ritz-Carlton in San Francisco.
In 1999 he was named “Wine Director of the Year”.
The winery was named MIURA after his hometown of Spanish bullfighting.
