Three wine series made from grapes harvested in Petrolo’s highest quality vineyard “Bodgina”. “A” is a wine made from the finest Sangiovese using amphora (unglazed pottery), which has been made by local Tuscan artisans for centuries.
The aroma of dark cherries and condensed black fruits of plums is intricately entwined with spicy scents of sweet dried fruits, cinnamon and cumin, and rises from the glass. Compared to wine aged in barrels, the attack has a soft texture peculiar to unglazed fermentation. The rounded tannins are mixed with the rich fruit flavor of the peel and the beautiful acid of Sangiovese’s special fusion, spreading the flavor of the grapes.
